NEWS ROUND-UP: DHS Girls Are 34-4 Since Start Of Last Season

Girls Basketball Goes to 10-1Dorchester's Lady Longhorns -- the 2025 Class D-2 state basketball runners-up -- are now 10-1 on the season. Over the past season and a half, the DHS girls are 34-4. Our records show this is the most successful one-year stretch of the DHS girls program. Since the holiday break, Dorchester has defeated Grand Island Lutheran (42-32), Sterling (38-30), and Palmer (62-24). The season is at the halfway mark and next up for the Orange and Black Attack are two road contests, Jan. 15 at East Butler (2-8) and Jan. 20 at Cross County (8-5), followed by a Jan. 22 home game against Class C-2 Shelby-Rising City (6-5). 

Bernice Weber Celebrates 90th Birthday: On Jan. 10, Dorchester's Bernice Weber celebrated her 90th birthday. If you see Bernice, be sure to wish this special Dorchester resident a very happy birthday.  

March 2 Deadline to File to Run for Office in Nebraska: If you are aiming to run for public office -- including school board or village council -- you have until March 2 to file. Incumbents (those who already hold office) must file by Feb. 17. Saline Center Hay Sale, Feb. 7: Saline Center will host a Feb. 7 hay sale to raise funds to make repairs and upgrades to the building. For more information, email salinecenter389@hotmail.com.
