NEWS ROUND-UP: Sons of American Legion Dinner, Feb. 7

Sons of American Legion Fundraiser Dinner, Feb. 7: On Saturday, Feb. 7 -- from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. -- you will be treated to some seriously great grub at the Dorchester American Legion building. The Dorchester Sons of the American Legion, Post #264 will be hosting a their ribeye steak sandwich fundraiser. Sides will be served with the sandwich. Cost is $20 per person. Cash bar and pickle cards will be available. Bring your friends! 

Village Seeks Assistant Utility Superintendent: The Village of Dorchester is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a full-time assistant utility superintendent, according to the Village government's site. This long-term position will perform duties in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the sewer and water systems; streets; storm drainage; parks; city equipment; public buildings; heavy equipment operations; and other tasks as assigned for the Village of Dorchester. Village Also Seeking Part-Time Dump Attendant: The Village of Dorchester is accepting applications for a dependable Dump Site Attendant responsible for monitoring disposal of branches, leaves, and grass clippings. The days/hours would be Monday and Wednesday 3-7 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., April through December weather permitting. Applications are available at the Village Office, 701 Washington,weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.   

Save the Date for UMW Soup and Sandwich Luncheon: The Dorchester United Methodist Women are planning an event that is sure to tantalize the taste buds. On Sunday, March 15, the UMW will host their annual soup and sandwich luncheon. More details will forthcoming soon.
