Details On Dorchester's Independence Day Parade

Independence Day is less than a month away.  That means Dorchester's Fourth of July parade is right around the corner.

This year, Dorchester's July 4 celebration will feature a combination of the Kids Parade and the regular parade.

Coordinators are encouraging all area kids to decorate their bikes, wagons and pets.  Youth may walk the parade as a group or by themselves -- but all are encouraged to dress in red, white and blue.

Parade coordinators will make sure all children 18 and under are at the front of the parade and will have time to get back to ride on any other floats in the main parade.

The Dorchester Foruth of July parade always draws a large crowd.  But coordinators tell the Times that they would like to make this year's parade the best yet.

"We are hoping for a big parade this year and are challenging all area businesses, organizations, and community members to enter," said one event organizer.
