Dorchester 4th Grade Girls Basketball Goes 7-1 In YMCA League
The future of Dorchester Lady Longhorn basketball looks very bright as the community continues to produce lots of talent in girls athletics.
Yesterday, Feb. 26, Dorchester's fourth grade YMCA basketball team won yet another game, albeit by only a basket.
Coach Brent Zoubek led the fourth graders to a 7-1 record for the 2017 season.
According to one fan who followed the games this year, the season showed continued promise for the future of DHS basketball, as the Dorchester girls fought off the Lincoln competition.
Sharon Axline, a grandmother of a YMCA player, reports that the Pavlish family provided a pizza supper for the coach, team and their families after yesterday's game.
YMCA recreational basketball is offered for boys and girls in 3rd through 8th grades.
According to the YMCA website, the YMCA basketball league provides low pressure development opportunities. Cost is only $15 per player.
