Nebraska has issued a health alert for toxic blue-green
algae in more lakes in the southeastern portion of our state, including Gage County. But the Times has learned that the health alert for Swan Creek Lake No.
5A in Saline County has ended.
People can still camp, boat and fish, but shouldn't swim
in the lakes or drink the water in lakes that have been placed on alert. Ingesting toxin-tainted water can cause health
problems, including vomiting, diarrhea and, rarely, death.
