Opening the business as retirees, the Thalmanns are "thrilled to be able to spend more time on their hobby." In addition to the Thalmanns, there are about seven consignors who provide merchandise to the shop. The store offers a wide range of findings, such as architectural antiques like wood doors, oak columns, antique door casings, baseboards, porch posts, chairs, dressers. Other items include flour sacks, metal ice boxes, needlework, buttons, sewing antiques, costume jewelry, German dinnerware, vintage quilts, clocks & watches, hats/hat boxes, dolls/doll clothes, children's books and much more. Need a quick gift? Aunt Ruby candles are great. According to the Register, even with the numerous items offered, "Evy can readily find anything for you if you are looking for something specific."
Store hours are 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Evy told the Times: "Since this is the month we are all supposed to do all our business in town, we are especially welcoming all Dorchester shoppers."
These business features are great.
