According to Dorchester Public School Activities Director Scott Pohl, the booster club needs active members to maintain the organization and "support the various events and fundraisers" that it provides for the students. All area DHS supporters should consider attending and actively supporting the booster club.
Pohl noted that the election of officers will be one of the main items on the agenda tomorrow evening.
Is there anyway to sign the paper that is going to be put in the time capsule if you can't make it to the alumni banquet?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the point of an Athletic Banquet if you aren't going to recognize all of the athlete's accomplishments?
ReplyDeleteA school record was broken this year after 24 years. Yet this was not mentioned last night because it had already been put on the board in the lunch room.
This player worked hard all season long and should have been mentioned last night.
I believe that the coach needs to apologize to the student and his family for this oversight.
I played for DHS in the mid to late 1980s when school records were falling like leaves in autumn. I don't recall any special ceremonies for any of those superior athletes. I agree a little recognition would be nice but you can't expect it or demand it. Life is like that. Kids should learn now you just gotta keep working hard to get noticed.
ReplyDeleteWhat's was the record that was broken. Post it here so that at least some of us can see it.
