DHS Homecoming Royalty Crowned, But Longhorns Lose Both VB Games

Last night, Dorchester's homecoming royalty was crowned, as students report having a great time.

However, the DHS Lady Longhorns fell in both of their homecoming contests, putting a bit of a downer on the evening.

The Lady Longhorns drop to 5-15 on the season.

In the homecoming triangular, Dorchester fell to Class C-2 Cross County, 25-15, 25-20, and lost to Class D-2 powerhouse Exeter-Milligan, 25-18, 25-17.

DHS will get a four-day break before returning to action early next week.

On Tuesday, the Lady Longhorns will host yet another triangular tournament at home, this time against Bruning-Davenport-Shickley (8-10) and McCool Junction (1-19).

  1. As an alumni of DHS, it pains me to see how casual this event has become. Feel free to wear clothes other than t-shirts and jeans. Looking nice for special events shows pride and reverence towards your activities.

    1. The kids did dress up for the dance on Saturday night. We no longer play football at our school, so the crowning was done after the volleyball game. Three of the five female candidates that showed up are on the volleyball team, so they are in their jerseys. No different than the boys in their football uniforms after a game on other years...

    2. No controversy here. Kids are representing DHS well.

I just wish we had a football team. Many people I'm talking to support the idea of a six man team

  2. Did the Village Dwellers have a conflicting opinion of their previous comment that they removed from this post? Hmmmmm!
