EXCLUSIVE: Crete's Pamida Closing

According to several e-mails we received, the Dorchester Times can confirm that Pamida in Crete will soon be closing. The department chain, which was recently purchased by Shopko, has had a Saline County presence since the early 1980s, records show. Our sources could not confirm when Crete's Pamida would be closing their doors for good. UPDATE (April 17): Follow-up e-mails indicate that the building that currently houses Pamida will reopen as a Home Town Store immediately.

  1. It's the year 2004 and the tale of two cities, Fremont and Crete. Illegals are flooding into both communities trying to change the culture, language and overall way of life. One town (Fremont) decides to do something to stops; the other (crete) does nothing. Now, eight years later, the results come to fruition. White flight from Crete. Fremont's booming. It's just that simple.

  2. Not sure what the previous comment has to do with this story, but in regards to Pamida Closing, it is merely a way to disperse inventory, before the parent company reopens it as a Shopko. Some postal patrons received a flyer in the mail explaining the change.
