  1. Fremont is suspending their new immigration law saying that is just a "legal tactic."

I think they understand that the law will not withstand a court test and they have opted to spare the expense of litigation.

I believe that the law will never go into effect.

  4. Does anyone know if the kittens that were in quarantine tested positive for rabies or not? They were cute?

  5. I just want to say to the Dorchester area pile of scum who stole my FedEx package. You're Welcome! I hope you enjoy the new $170 Rocky Roper boots you stole off my front porch. I hope they do not fit and give you many painful blisters.
It disgusts me people like you exist in this world and the "safe" town of Dorchester.

    Sincerely,

    Disgusted Dorchester Citizen

  7. mogI was told the kittens tested negative for rabies.
The rest of the cats have been revaccinated, the dog and horses were revacinnated.
Everyone is healthy and people can come and go as they please.
Sadly the kittens had to be put down to be tested.

  9. I heard a rumor that the school is considering getting rid of Chester, the longhorn head that has been in the gym as this is a liability hazard of it possibly falling and someone getting hurt. I was not able to attend the last school board meeting. Is this correct? This has been a long time member of the school. What do students and alumni think of this?

  10. Why would they take Chester down?

  11. Taking away chester, is like taking away the name of our school mascot. If the board members are resonsible for this, maybe the should talk to the students. It has been up for years, and hasn't fallen yet, shame on you board members if this is the case.

  12. If "Chester" is to be removed from his present position, suggest he
hung in the Office of the Principal
directly behind his desk. Surely, the mount isn't so heavy that it can not be properly and securel hung so s to avoid any liability. Duane Wheeler

  13. Reliable sources say that Chester was removed so that the gym could be painted, and chester could be cleaned. The sources also say that they have been unable to locate Chester after the cleaning. Perhaps if he was returned he could be put back on the "NORTH" wall, or given a new home in the school. Maybe he won't look so good in the newly decorated gym. I'll also wager that the board and admin would want to honor the wishes of the patrons regarding Chester if the theif would return him.

chester was on the north wall...da

  15. I'd say it's about time to retire Chester. In my opinion, he's an eye sore!

  16. Chester must stay! Having Chester in the gym is something that makes DPS eunique from other schools. Nobody else has something like that. Getting rid of Chester would be like changing Dorchester from the Longhorns to the Fighting Monkeys...it just makes no sense and it shouldnt be done! Tradition and pride are writtin all over Chester. He's something all Alumni can still talk about when it comes to the changes that have taken place at the school. Bottom line, Chester stays. The End

  17. I didn't even know this trophy was named Chester. Where have I been?

If someone can't figure out how to securely fasten "Chester" to the wall so he doesn't fall on our heads than we probably need to do a better job of educating our students. Surely there is some structural engineer who can make sure Chester doesn't fall unless the whole wall comes down.

  18. We can put a new hanging device on him, if there is a concern.

  19. WHAT! Why would you take Chester Down, if we wouldn't have Chester up there we could lose our pride of longhors. And what about a picture on the wall thats just like Chester , if the picture falls what would you do about that.

  20. I personally, as a vet student might change my job choice upon opening a cooler with very cute kitten heads on ice.
    Good thing customs didnot decide
the overnight pakage needed to be checked out.
    Yikes!
Oh and thank you Richard for the visual. I'm sure the previous commenter wanted to spare the details but get the info out.

  21. Oh,
Chester hung on the north wall of the gym...facing south...directly above the clock.
Thank you Diane for offering to help out with Chester.
Maybe a pole on keeping Chester!
Let the people who are paying for the school and everyone that works there, decide if Chester stays or goes.

  22. Big Mama--Chester hung on the SOUTH Wall Facing North. On the North wall is the picture of the Longhorns. By the way, I think Chester should be put back up...in the same place!

  23. Amazing that those most excited about the steer don't even know which wall he hung on. He hangs on the north wall. Big Mama knows best. Does

  24. Do you know Chester is not going back up? Or is this just another rumor where someone mentioned "I wonder if they will put Chester back up." and now it has spun out of control. I can't imagine that happening in a small town like Dorchester... There are no rumors in Dorchester... Maybe you should get your facts straight before you post something.

  25. For everyone debating over which wall Chester hung on, Big mama was correct. He hung on the North wall, directly over the and doors to the North hallway that leads to the student parking lot. The longhorn painting was on the south wall, over the home bleachers. I know that this is for sure because I have attended DPS for the last 12 years of my life , as well as because I know how to distinguish North from South.

    Sincerely,

    Jessica Hansen

  26. Chester is not missing. I saw him in the school in a secure location about 3 weeks ago. If Diane Velder, oh and Bill too, (Ha!) is willing to put a secure hanging device on Chester, put him back up. The gym would not look the same without him there. If he is dirty, I'll bet there is something that can be done about that also.

  27. After attending the Village Board meeting, Chester may be replaced by, "Phil A. Buster!
