Get Ready For Easter Egg Hunt, March 22

The Easter Bunny is getting ready to visit the village.

Plan to bring the kids to Dorchester's community Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 22. The hunt will begin promptly at 2 p.m. at Nerud Field and the high school football field, according to Dorchester Volunteer Fire Dept. secretary Bret Cerny.

Sponsored by the DVFD and the Dorchester American Legion Post 264, the community Easter egg hunt is one of the highlights of the holiday weekend.

  1. You are having this Easter Egg at the same time they are having the Dorchester kids wrestling tournament at the high school!!!!
    Why??????

  2. The Easter egg hunt has always been held early afternoon the Saturday before Easter. Always. Always. Always. I'm not on the Legion or Fire Department, but I'm telling you not to blame them. If it means that much, ask the coordinators to take a 30 minute break during the tourney so all the kids can take part. Offer a solution and put it into action instead instead of crying.

  3. We are sitting here and wondering how a blurb about an Easter egg hunt can draw controversy.

It goes to show you can't please everybody all the time.

In the meantime, we hope this issue gets resolved.

  4. A better question is why hold a wresting tourney the day before Easter?

  5. The kids wrestling tournament has always been that weekend in March. It just so happens this year that weekend is Easter. The wrestling clubs from around the area try to keep our tournaments the same every year to make things simple. Besides the weekend before is the alumni basketball and the weekend after is prom. At 2:00p.m. 5th &6th or 7th & 8th graders will be wrestling I doubt they are going to hunt easter eggs.
