Notice: Severe Weather Testing On Wednesday Morning

This week is severe weather awareness week.  As a result, this Wednesday, March 29, at 10:30 a.m. (CT), the National Weather Service's (NWS) Storm Prediction Center will issue a test tornado watch for all counties in Nebraska.

The watch will be valid for one hour.

Also, at 10:30 Wednesday morning, the NWS Weather Forecast Offices (WFO) that serve Nebraska will issue a test tornado warning for their Nebraska Counties valid for 20 minutes. This is the time you will be hearing sirens.

At 11 a.m. the test tornado watch will expire for all of Nebraska.

This is a good time for businesses and families and individuals to test their emergency plans or create plans for the severe weather.
