Sept. 8 Glow Ball Golf Tourney Will Raise Funds For Fire Dept.

Readers of the Dorchester Times have an opportunity to help raise money for the Dorchester Volunteer Fire Department -- and have some fun doing it.

The fire department is sponsoring a glow ball golf tournament at the Friend Country Club on September 8. There will be a dinner and social time before play begins. This is a wonderful way to support the DVFD.

For more information or to sign up, please call the Friend Country Club at (402) 947-6501. Businesses can also sponsor a hole for $50 or donate prizes.
** UPDATE: 9/2/07, 2 p.m **

The DVFD glow ball golf tourney will begin at 7 p.m. The Department has several sponsors, meaning lots of prizes for golfers. Sign up to play ASAP by calling the Friend Country Club at 947-6501.

  1. Great idea for a fundraiser. Remember when the fire dept. had the dances at Tabor Hall. Could they do the same this year?

  2. The fire dept. would love to see a great turnout. We have done alot of work on this and have received alot of support from the area merchants (translation A LOT OF PRIZES.) The fire department has recently HAD to replace two vehicles and this tournement is to help defray that cost. The support we have received so far has been great and we as a department greatly appreciate it.

  3. I don't play golf but this is creative fun way to raise some funds. I'll be sending my donation--Dorchester is very fortunate to have such a dedicated and qualified volunteer fire department. Thanks to all the men and women who donate their time to make things better for us here in Dorchester.
